Six NYC Polaroids

2010/06/02

Here are six of 80 Polaroids I shot on the weekend of May 22, 2010 in New York City. I used the Paul Giambarba edition TZ Artistic film which I purchased from The Impossible Project. It’s been awhile since I’ve shot with my SX-70 but I have to say, while expensive, it was a lot of fun. I plan to hurry and scan the remaining 74 shots considering that the fine print on this product reads, “Please note that SX-70 TZ is experimental material and images may continue to fade even months after exposure and may show spots and blemishes.”

Sex, Bombs & Burgers

2010/03/04

My friend Pete wrote a great book called Sex, Bombs and Burgers. Prior to the Christmas break, he asked If I could draw a monkey holding a hamburger for the soon to be printed book. Although I may not have understood at the time, now that I’ve read the introduction this illustration makes sense now.

PENCIL CRAYONS (MULTIPLE COLOURS)

2010/01/22

Here is the completed poster design which includes “Adhesive bandage” and other colours. It will most likely be a giclée print but I’m still weighing in on the size.

PENCIL CRAYONS (SINGLE COLOURS)

2010/01/18

Here are four pencil crayon colour designs which will first be made into postcards and eventually into 16″ x 10″ posters. A multi-colour design will be posted later in the week.

LET’S GO TO CANAL STREET (part 1)

2010/01/13

For many, New York’s Canal Street is a place where one can get a piece of luxury (albeit a fake one) at a fraction of the cost. For me, one of the most fascinating things about the area is how the street itself is diametrically opposed to what most people’s idea of luxury is. I wanted to represent this opposition by overlaying Takashi Murakami’s Louis Vuitton monogram over Canal Street photographs I have taken over the years. I have more photos in this series and will posting them at a later date.

HAPPY/SAD BALLOON POSTER

This is a 24″ x 36″ giclée print I had made about a month ago of a somewhat random balloon repeat pattern I was experimenting with. I plan to render this design as a video piece and, if all goes to plan, a sculpture as well.
